01

Measure the finished opening at multiple points

Measure width at the top, middle, and bottom; height at the left, center, and right; and depth on both sides. Record the smallest width and height, and note walls that are not plumb or floors that are not level.

  • Finished width: top, center, bottom
  • Finished height: left, center, right
  • Depth from the cabinet face to the rear obstruction
  • Baseboard, trim, outlet, valve, or molding intrusions
02

Map the door swing and adjacent surfaces

Identify the hinge side and draw the door arc. Check walls, tall handles, islands, adjacent appliance handles, and countertop overhangs. Some doors need to open beyond 90 degrees for full bin or drawer access.

03

Record utility locations, not just availability

Note the exact distance of the electrical outlet, water shutoff, and drain from the opening edges and floor. A utility can be present but still conflict with the appliance or anti-tip system.

04

Measure the route from truck to kitchen

Start at the unloading location and follow the real path. Photograph tight turns and measure the clear opening after doors are removed only if removal is actually planned.

  • Gate and exterior door
  • Lobby or elevator
  • Interior doors and hallways
  • Turns around islands and railings
  • Final standing and staging area
05

Bring the numbers to the showroom

Bring measurements, photos, the existing model number, and cabinet drawings if available. Premium Kitchen Appliance can use them to help identify questions for your cabinetmaker or installer, but final fit must be confirmed against the current manufacturer installation guide and by the responsible trade professional.
