01

Identify who provides any coverage.

Ask whether any stated coverage comes from the manufacturer, the seller, or a separate service-contract provider. Those are different relationships and may use different eligibility, claim, labor, parts, travel, and transfer terms.

02

Do not infer coverage from “display” or “like new.”

Used and display appliances may have different coverage from a new retail purchase—or no particular coverage at all. Only the written terms supplied for the exact unit should be relied upon.

03

Connect coverage to the product record.

The document should identify the appliance, coverage provider, effective date, duration, covered parts and labor, exclusions, service area, claim process, and any owner obligations that apply.
